Each week, the MEDA staff sifts through several sources for news that is useful to our members, and that highlights the work of our members. MEDA members receive the news before it is posted to this page and receive expanded information on resources in the Info Hub.
Headlines and resources not only include good news about economic growth in Michigan, but also valuable reports, examples of the creative use of an economic development tool for a project, federal-level program updates, or economic outlooks and trends.

Michigan Development Landscape Survey - Public Sector Consultants is currently working with Business Leaders for Michigan to implement the Michigan in a New Era plan, a blueprint to accelerate growth and opportunity in Michigan. This survey is intended to gather input to help prioritize policy and process improvements that will make it easier, affordable, and more predictable to build and grow in Michigan. Virtual roundtables for a dive deeper into specific barriers and solutions are being held on April 15th (register) and April 22nd (register).
EDA Announces Operational Modernization Updates - This includes the establishment of two primary program offices: the Office of Regional Operations and the Office of Innovation and Entrepreneurship. EDA also established a new Office of Disaster Recovery and Resilience.
Ford to Transform Former Product Development Center into World Headquarters South - Ford Motor Co. in Dearborn is transforming its former Product Development Center (PDC) into its World Headquarters South. Construction will begin next month and is scheduled for completion in 2029.
