MEDA Coronavirus Update - Events Cancelled or Moved to Online Format
As I'm sure you have heard, Governor Gretchen Whitmer has declared a state of emergency regarding the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) and has recommended avoiding large gatherings when possible.
The announcement has brought many inquiries to MEDA about upcoming events as many members and partner organizations are being advised not to travel or attend gatherings. As a results, MEDA's Board of Directors and staff met this morning and approved the following actions:
- Capitol Day is cancelled. (Refunds were issued 3/25/20.)
- The IEDC Technology-Led Course will be moved to an online format. We have partnered with the International Economic Development Council (IEDC) to arrange this for the attendees.
- The Emerging Leaders Spring Training is cancelled. Even though this event is about 50 people, we want to take extra precautions to prevent the spread of the virus. (Refunds were issues 3/25/20.)
We will look for ways to deliver this some of the education from the cancelled events to you in other formats.
We appreciate your support and patience in this matter.
The health and safety of our members and partners is of utmost importance to us. Please take the necessary precautions to care for yourself, your family, and others around you.
