Information About Park/Area:
Quality of Life: Three Rivers is located halfway between Detroit and Chicago and ½ hour from Kalamazoo, allowing for a small town feel with all the conveniences needed here but easy access to larger cities. Three Rivers does indeed have 3 rivers: the Portage, Rocky and St. Joseph Rivers all converge in Scidmore Park, located near the historic downtown. The City was formed in the 1800’s because the rivers were used to transport goods and produce energy in the mills. The rivers are now used recreationally for canoeing, kayaking and tubing as well as creating beautiful scenery.
Workforce: The County has a Career and Technical Education Program which partners with area businesses and Glen Oaks Community College allowing high school kids the opportunity to try out technical careers and even graduate with certificates along with their High School Diplomas. Glen Oaks Community College offers support for area businesses through a variety of training programs on campus and trainings they bring on-site to area businesses.
