MEDA Membership Service of the Month

June 2018

Instead of us telling you about what MEDA can provide, this month, we are going to let some members tell the story.

"MEDA continues to be my #1 “Go To” organization to stay abreast of current trends and policies that impact our region and our profession. Whether you are brand new to the Economic Development profession or seasoned professional (not old!) like me, MEDA offers a non-intimidating way to connect, learn, and share ideas with a vast array of economic professionals throughout the state. Members genuinely care about each other and are always there to help. Same goes for the entire MEDA staff! You will always get someone “live” to answer the phone or receive prompt follow-up on any issues or burning questions you may have. Personally, that alone is a great return on the investment! Not to mention that MEDA offers a one-stop shop for cutting-edge conferences, educational workshops, networking events and mentoring programs. Basically, everything you need to get started or complement the work we do as economic development professionals!"

  • Linda Williams, Economic & Community Engagement Supervisor, City of Madison Heights

“MEDA membership is an automatic in our organization’s budget every year. We receive access to excellent networking opportunities and gain valuable education and insight on key topics that help improve our daily operations. This is particularly critical for us as we have limited staff and time, so the ability to receive lots of different information from one resource is very impactful. MEDA also unites nearly 500 professionals from across the state, giving us a strong voice on issues important to our industry. If you work in economic development anywhere in Michigan, we welcome you to join us!”

  • Justin Horvath, CEcD, President/CEO, Shiawassee Economic Development Partnership

“ACCESS. I joined MEDA because I wanted access to the hundreds of dedicated economic development professionals because they 1.) select and influence project teams, 2.) have personal relationships with C-Suite Executives and Site Selectors, 3.) are dedicated to attracting and retaining jobs and 4.) strive to ensure a vibrant economy in Michigan in the years to come. At a time when it's critical to select business development opportunities with the greatest return, it's good to know that John Avery and his talented staff are providing multiple channels for members to prosper.”

  • Doug Brown, Director of Development, ASTI Environmental
