Historic Downtown -- The central business district in Three Rivers is graced by an abundance of architecturally significant buildings. These structures, and the history surrounding them, earned the area a spot on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982. The historical marker noting this achievement says, in part, "The Downtown Three Rivers Commercial Historic District has one of the best-preserved Victorian streetscapes in southwestern Michigan. Three Rivers, settled in 1830s, grew with the development of local water power and a railroad in the 1850s." Inspired by the Main Street Program and led by the Three Rivers Downtown Development Authority and the Three Rivers Area Chamber of Commerce, a variety of efforts are currently underway to revitalize Downtown Three Rivers.

Murals -- This eye-catching historical streetscape mural now graces the "mini-mall" walk-thru area in downtown Three Rivers. The project, sponsored by the Three Rivers Downtown Development Authority, was completed with public participation in August 1999. Initial work on the project was done by artist Conrad Kaufman. In addition to the beauty added by the mural, many building facades in the downtown area have received a facelift within the last year and several buildings are currently undergoing restoration.
