110 acres within the Midlink Business Park is part of a tax-free Renaissance Zone, allowing businesses to abate virtually all personal, real and small business taxes through 2017. The Kalamazoo area is a progressive and affordable mid-size city with a workforce that offers a diverse range of skills. According to a recent study of the Kalamazoo Metro area, the cost of living is 30% lower than nearby Chicago and Detroit and the area offers a number of significant incentives for companies choosing to locate here.
 Western Michigan University -- WMU's main campus is located in Kalamazoo, covers more than 550 acres and includes 125 buildings, including 22 residence halls housing more than 5,700 students. The new Parkview Campus for the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences and the Business Technology and Research Park is located on 265 acres, three miles southwest of the main campus.
