The strength of MEDA's committees lie in the participation of its members.


Committees

The following Committees have been established. Click the links below to find out more about each Committee.

Advocacy
The Charge of the Advocacy Committee is to:
        - Carry out the policy outlining MEDA's role in, and approaches for, advocating for economic development issues.
        - Gain a significant amount of perspectives from MEDA members about the policy of advocacy.

Annual Meeting
The Charge of the Annual Meeting Committee is to:

        - Create a concept (theme) for the annual meeting, incorporating educational programming and social events.
        - Plan and confirm details of the annual meeting.
        - Implement a marketing plan for the annual meeting.

Certified Business Parks
The Charge of the Certified Business Park Committee is to:

        - Publish the requirements to become a CBP and communicate to the local communities.
        - Publish a directory of CBP's and distribute to potential marketing networks.
        - Create a resource which identifies sources of developmental funding, i.e., grants.

Education
The Charge of the Education Committee is to:

        - Oversee the educational needs identified by all committees, prioritize and implement in accordance with the vision/mission/strategic plan.
        - Make topic and speaker recommendations to the Annual Meeting Committee.
        - Enhance educational program profitability so that net education income from classroom programs enhances the revenue funding situation of MEDA.
        - Explore alternative delivery of education to address needs of members.

Membership
The Charge of the Membership Committee is to:

        - Create a system to attract and retain members.
        - Create a network conduit for new members and established members.

Social Media
The Charge to the Social Media Committee is to:

        - Investigate and apply the benefits of, and options for, social media as a tool in economic development.
        -
Investigate and apply social media to improve the association functions of MEDA.
        - Be a Champion for MEDA's social media success by participating in real-time interaction.
        -
Assist MEDA in identifying the latest technologies and trends.


Taskforces

On an as needed basis, taskforces are formed to address issues that may arise affecting economic development in the state. Members will be notified of these taskforces via our broadcast email system. Currently, there aren't any active taskforces.
