Interesting Information About Centreville
Langley Covered Bridge -- This is also the starting point for visitors who come to see the
Centreville Community Information -- Centreville is the county seat of Saint Joseph County. It was named because of itβs location in the exact center of the county, (presently at the junction of M-86 and County Road 133). Thomas W. Langley was the first settler here, arriving in 1831, building a tavern. That same year, the town was organized as the county seat. It later incorporated as a village in 1837. Today, the stately Victorian style courthouse still graces the center square of town, surrounded by small shops and businesses.
