This Corridor has the advantage of being adjacent to Michigan State University with its technology research, education and foreign language resources. The Corridor offers a diverse range of industry, including pharmaceutical, machine Tools, plastics, heavy and light manufacturing, publishing and more. /files/CBP/Webberville Community 2.jpegWebberville Facts -- Webberville is located on the northeastern border of Ingham County in the Greater Lansing area. Webberville is primarily an agricultural community that was first settled in 1837. It was originally named Phelpstown, after David Phelps, host of the first town meeting. Renamed LeRoy in 1850, for Daniel LeRoy, Michigan’s first Attorney General, until the post office closed for various reasons in 1862. In 1867, the village was moved one mile and reorganized, and since another town named LeRoy in Michigan had been organized during the closing, it was renamed Webberville, this time after the postmaster, Hubert P. Webber. It was eventually incorporated as a village in 1883. Most common industries for employment are accommodation and food service, finance, insurance, metal, plastics, truck drivers and driver/sales workers.
