Bedford Township Recreation -- Bedford Township has six parks in the area for camping, picnics, basketball, tennis and other sports or just a place to take your children to play. This includes the Carr Park and Carr Community Center, the Indian Creek Park (pictured), Parmelee Park, Samaria Par, White Park and Vienna Park.

At the time, Bedford Township was known as West Erie. The township split off from Erie in 1836. The first post office was established in 1834. Bedford Center was established in 1859 and is now known as Temperance. The population of the township in 1840 was 500 and in 2006 was 31,321. (Picture by Dave Hatfield)
