MEDA Membership Service of the Month
January 2012 -- According to Stan Soloway, president and CEO of the Professional Services Council, "To get the most of your membership -- for yourself personally and to increase your company's visibility -- you must be an active participant. Being an active participant goes beyond attending meetings. You can have a huge impact on the association agenda by keeping the professional staff abreast of what your customers are saying, what changes you are seeing in your market, and how proposed legislation and policies would impact your business." [“Membership Has Its Benefits” Washington Technology (06/09/09)] MEDA currently has six active committees in which members can join at any time. Committee participation not only builds your network, but it also increases your chance of receiving scholarships and being on the Board of Directors.

This year's Capitol Day event covers topics that you will need and want to know for the year ahead. Understand the implications of the repeal of personal property taxes, learn how State departments are collaborating given the changes that have taken place in the past year, gather information that will help your clients maneuver the current importing and exporting climate and ascertain whether existing legislation for funding economic development is right for your organization. We have also invited Governor Rick Snyder and Senator Debbie Stabenow to address the audience on State and Federal issues.
